PD1000 High-Definition Dense Encoder Modulation System

The PD1000 is a professional-grade, modular HD encoding platform that encodes up to eight video sources and outputs them simultaneously over QAM RF and IP, all in a single rack unit. Its platform-based design means it grows with your deployment: encoder modules and output cards are field-swappable, so you can add capacity without replacing the chassis.

The PD1000 fits any environment where you need to encode and distribute multiple local video sources across a network, whether that distribution runs over a QAM plant, an IP network, or both simultaneously.

A modular platform, not a fixed product

The PD1000 chassis accepts up to four dual-channel encoder modules and one output module, so you mix and match based on what your deployment needs. Start with two encoder modules and expand to eight channels in the field without replacing anything except the module. Two encoder types and three output types cover the range from component and HDMI sources to HD-SDI and from QAM to IP to ISDB-T.

EM-2HD

Dual HD Encoder Module:
Accepts two channels of HDMI (clear), component YPbPr, or composite video (with closed caption). Auto-detects input type. Encodes independently in H.264 or MPEG-2 per channel. Optional Dolby Digital Stereo Creator audio encoding.

EM-HD-SDI

HD-SDI Encoder Module:
Accepts two channels of 3G/HD/SD-SDI via BNC. Encodes independently in H.264 or MPEG-2 per channel. Dolby Digital Stereo Creator audio included as standard. For broadcast and professional AV source environments.

OM4

QAM Output Module:
Multiplexes encoded channels and outputs up to four consecutive QAM RF channels simultaneously with IP (SPTS over UDP/RTP). Includes EAS video input and contact closure for emergency alert override. Supports Annex A/B/C, 64 and 256 QAM.

OM4

ISDB Output Modules:
For deployments in Japan (ISDB-T) or Latin America (ISDB-Tb). Outputs two ISDB-T or ISDB-Tb channels with simultaneous IP output option. Up to two OMI modules per chassis. Note: ISDB-T and ISDB-Tb cannot be configured simultaneously.

Background Image Blocks

Up to 8 channels in 1RU

Four dual-channel encoder modules in a single 1RU chassis let you encode and dsitribute up to eight HD video sources simultaneously, with no change of resolution between input and output.

Simultaneous RF and IP output

QAM and IP output in parallel from the same chassis, useful for properties with mixed distribution infrastructure, or where you need IP monitoring of QAM-distributed content.

Virtual channel mapping

PSIP tables let you configure virtual channel numbers and names per QAM channel, so your locally encoded channels appear at the right logical channel position on property TVs.

EAS support

Integrated Emergency Alert System support on the OM4 module. When triggered, EAS video replaces all QAM RF output channels until the alert clears, without affecting IP output.

High RF output power

Up to 53 dBmV combined output level, designed to drive multiple receiving devices without an additional launch amplifier in most property deployments.

External DC backup power

A +12VDC external input on the PD1000 supports continued operation if the internal power supply fails, without interrupting the RF output while you arrange a repair.
