GigaWave Optical Hub (O-HUB)

GigaWave Optical Hub

The GigaWave® Optical Hub (O-HUB) is a modular, environmentally hardened optical signal management and distribution platform designed to support the next-generation needs of MSOs transitioning to Distributed Access (DAA) or Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Architectures. As the successor to Cisco’s GS7000 Optical Hub, GigaWave Optical Hub introduces enhanced optical amplification, switching, and passive management capabilities—all within a compact, node-sized form factor.

Optimized to help operators consolidate physical hub sites, extend signal reach, and cost-effectively deliver high-speed broadband to unserved and underserved communities, the GigaWave Optical Hub sets a new standard for field-deployable optical infrastructure.

Platform Highlights

GigaWave Optical Hub

Overview

The GigaWave® Optical Hub (O-HUB) is a field hardened platform based on the ATX GigaXtend® GS7 1.8GHz Optical Node. Instead of supporting an RF amplifier module in the base, the O-HUB has no RF circuitry and is entirely based on…
GigaWave Optical Hub - EDFA, C-Band Optical Amplifier

EDFA, C-Band Optical Amplifier

The GigaWave® O-HUB EDFA is a dual-stage Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier designed to increase network reach with up to +20dBm output power and variable gain up to 25dB. Up to four EDFAs can be installed in the Optical Hub lid alongside…
GigaWave O-HUB Optical Switch

Optical Switch

The GigaWave® O-HUB Optical Switch provides seamless optical path redundancy, ensuring service continuity during fiber cuts or signal degradation. Up to four switches can be installed in the hub base (space permitting).

Optical Passives

ATX’s GigaWave® portfolio includes a variety of Optical Passives to complement the company’s digital optical transport and amplifier solutions. These field-hardened, low-insertion loss filters are designed for use in indoor and outdoor environments and provide flexible options for multiwavelength applications.…
