Areca Command Remote Monitoring Unit

The Areca Command Remote Monitoring Unit (RMU) gives service providers complete visibility into their backup power ecosystem, no matter how widespread or hard to reach the deployment. Designed as a compact 1RU standalone device, it can be mounted in 19 inch or 23 inch racks or installed on a standard DIN rail, enabling seamless integration into headends, NOCs, central offices or other remote facilities. The RMU continuously relays the health and status of Areca Element Hybrid Supercapacitor modules, sending alerts and notifications whenever standby power requires attention — a critical capability for operators who can’t afford blind spots in mission critical infrastructure.

A single Areca Command RMU monitors up to 15 Areca modules and provides both a system wide dashboard and per module visibility through an intuitive graphical interface. With support for SNMP and other industry standard management protocols, the RMU delivers real time data including voltage, available current, charge state and performance metrics over standard IP networks. By closing the monitoring gap long associated with legacy VRLA batteries, the Areca Command empowers operators to manage field deployed energy assets with confidence — keeping networks aligned, informed and mission ready as they chart a more resilient path forward.

Receive Advanced Notification of Energy Storage Issues or Vulnerabilities:
The Areca Command RMU provides technicians with up-to-the-second information about the operational status of energy storage systems located across the network, including difficult-to-reach sites. This capability enables MSOs and other service providers, which are often unaware of inoperative or under-charged lead-acid batteries in their backup power operations until a network failure, to protect against service disruptions due to power interruptions.

Reduce Operational Costs and Truck Rolls:
The ability to monitor the status of backup energy storage modules reduces the need for MSOs and other service providers to dispatch technicians to remote locations to check the health of backup power sources. Remote monitoring of Areca energy storage equipment also provides service providers with the peace of mind that their subscribers will not lose service in the event of a power failure.

Quick Integration into Existing Monitoring Operations:
The RMU’s easy installation enables MSOs and other service providers to gain access to critical energy storage monitoring information within seconds of installing the RMU, which supports SNMP and other standards. An intuitive GUI provides NOC technicians with an easy-to-understand dashboard that can be customized to conform to end-user requirements.
