FPRP Student Training Program

If you are interested in getting paid to expand your skill set, increase your earning potential and possess the qualifications needed to start a career in the cable industry, ATX’s Field Personnel Replenishment Program (FPRP) offers apprenticeship training throughout the U.S. You’ll work side-by-side with ATX’s industry-leading experts on actual deployment projects and in operating telecommunications networks, as an integral part of the ATX Professional Services Team.

ATX works with some of the largest broadband communications companies in the world. Joining ATX’s FPRP apprenticeship program could put you on the inside track for landing a position with one of these Fortune 500 companies.

Prerequisites

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of Vocational Training Program in a related field 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license 
  • Clear background check and drug screening

Train On

  • Tools of the trade
  • Underground equipment
  • Cable bucket truck operation
  • CDL-A
  • OSHA 10
  • Flagger training
  • First aid/CPR/AED
  • Introduction to GIS-Esri
  • Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) certifications

Gain Experience In

  • Telecommunication network maintenance and upgrades 
    • Fundamentals in coaxial and fiber optic systems 
    • Installation and testing 
    • Splicing, bonding and termination techniques 
  • Field Engineering and walk-out estimating 
  • Field safety 
  • Field coordination 
  • Using maps and meters 
  • Hands-on with multi-vendor hardware
