The 5th Annual 2050 Project Survey
Share Your Views on the HFC Network Evolution
Confronted by several architectural and technology options, along with mounting competitive pressure, cable operators, more than ever, need to know what their peers are thinking when it comes to evolving and eventually transitioning their HFC networks to all-fiber architectures while continuing to meet the needs of subscribers and position their businesses for the future.
That’s why ATX developed the cable industry’s first HFC evolution survey. Now in its fifth year, the ATX 2050 Project Survey is designed to take an annual measure of where MSOs are in their HFC-to-FTTH transitions, as well as their current plans for upgrading and evolving their outside plant investments toward eventually delivering multigigabit-per-second symmetrical services.
In addition to capturing the most up-to-date insights on the trends and technologies that are shaping the future of the HFC network, this year’s survey is designed to provide cable professionals with a five-year checkpoint on how the cable industry has changed since the survey’s introduction. Topics covered in this year’s survey include MSOs’ plans for maximizing DOCSIS 3.1 architectures, the appetite for and timing of DOCSIS 4.0 adoption, whether FDD or FDX is the more attractive option, the impact of intelligence in the outside plant and more.
As always, compiling this important insight requires assistance from the cable industry community. Completing the survey takes 5-10 minutes. All qualified participants, cable professionals who currently work for a cable operator, are automatically entered into a raffle to win one of three $100 Amazon gift cards we’ll be giving away. Participation will also put you at the top of the list to receive the survey results and analysis. No need to worry about confidentiality.
